Halloween Pumpkins Guys

These little guys are so easy to make.  My Aunt Donna gave me this idea & it was a huge hit at my son's preschool Halloween party!

What you need:
*Snack size bags of M&M's, Skittles, or whatever candy you prefer
*Sixlets candy
*Popsicle sticks
*Pumpkin foam kit or Styrofoam pumpkins
*Hot glue gun
*Fall leaves or garland
*Hole punch or scissors

- Hot glue your popsicle stick to the back of candy bag, leaving a portion of the stick exposed for the head.
- Hot glue tubes of Sixlets candy for the arms & legs.
- Make a hole in your leaf with hole punch or pair of scissors.
- Place over exposed part of the popsicle stick as the "shirt."
- Decorate your pumpkin face & glue to exposed part of stick.

I found my pumpkin heads at Hobby Lobby.  You can decorate the faces as you wish & it's fun for kids!  If you can't find the foam kit, you can use wooden pumpkins or mini-styrofoam pumpkins & decorate the face with a marker.

The best place I have found for the tubes of Sixlets is the Dollar Store.  They are the perfect color for fall!  I prefer to use M&M's as the body since the bag is brown.  Again, another fall color.

That's it!  So easy & super cute!

How big are the pumpkins?

I used Smarties instead of Sixlets as I could not find the Sixlets in the clear packaging. It is a cute idea better than just handing out a piece of candy

I made these last year for Trunk or Treat at Church. They were SO POPULAR with the kids AND the parents. Since you wrote this post, I thought I'd let you know about some things that made this even easier for me. Hobby Lobby (last year) sold packages of the foam pumpkins with the faces already stamped on them! How easy! It seems like there must have been 100 in the package because I still have some left to use for this year. Also at Hobby Lobby, packages of the leaves, without the stems, with a convenient "U" shape at the top of the leaf that just fits very nicely underneath the head of the foam pumpkin -- so no need for a hole punch. I've been shopping at Hobby Lobby this year, and so far no packages of foam pumpkins and no packages of the leaves that I found last year. But maybe when it gets closer to Halloween they will have these things in stock. Thanks for the CUTEST treats. I wish I had a creative mind like yours. When I see the completed project, I always think to myself, "Now, why couldn't I think of that!"
